Expert Advisory Groups

Two permanent Expert Advisory Groups have been set up to advise the Critical Infrastructure Advisory Council. The two Expert Advisory Groups are:

IT Security Expert Advisory Group

The IT Security Expert Advisory Group provides advice on technical solutions to problems identified by the nine Infrastructure Assurance Advisory Groups, as well as projecting emerging trends that have the potential to impact on all industry sectors.

The group can be contacted through its secretariat, which is provided by the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy.

Critical Infrastructure Protection Futures Expert Advisory Group

The Critical Infrastructure Protection Futures Expert Advisory Group examines long-term trends and issues affecting Australia's critical infrastructure from a variety of angles and across all sectors.

Ad hoc Expert Advisory Groups

The Critical Infrastructure Advisory Council can set up ad hoc expert advisory groups from time to time to meet particular requirements.

A Built Environment Expert Advisory Group was established in 2004 for a fixed term. It provided advice to the Council and all the sector advisory group on issues relating to the design, construction and maintenance of built critical infrastructure.
